In the PS3 version you only use 1 profile and the second player is just controlling the AI Sheva. You effectivley get double the money too because, like in online, both players get any money picked up. After doing co-op both players could continue the game single player independantly without effecting the other's game, carrying over progress, money and items. The 360 version treats local co-op identical to playing online with 2 seperate profiles, creating seperate save data for both players. I played through the 360 version about 10 times in local co-op with my sister, then bought the gold edition on PS3 since my 360 didn't have the HDD space for the DLC.
